NY-LON was a cultural exchange program designed by the Shawn Carter Foundation and the University of the Arts London/London College of Communication. The aim was to increase the future employment prospects of underserved students by exposing them to a cross-cultural, academic, experiential, and professional development experience in creative industries. NY-LON launched in 2015 and since then, our students created marketing campaigns for Made in America Festival, the Shawn Carter Foundation, and developed a strategy to expand the NY-LON program itself. Due to Covid-19 this program has been paused.

On the shared vision of social justice and educational equity, the Shawn Carter Foundation and Dubin Research & Consulting partnered to launch an intensive 7-week fellowship experience at Dubin Research & Consulting. 

The Josh Dubin Fellowship is a rigorous and experiential social justice program designed to provide selected Shawn Carter Foundation scholars with the opportunity to get real-world experience at Dubin Research & Consulting (DRC), one of the finest strategic consulting firms in the nation with a proven track record at assisting attorneys craft litigation strategies that translate into victories at trial. 

Fellows each received a $10,000 award which was applied towards tuition, fees, and an internship stipend.

During the fellowship, the students supported the exoneration of Bruce Bryant.  They were tasked with devising creative ideas for case strategy, writing petitions to Governor Hochul, spearheading a presentation to the Queens County DA as well as visiting Mr. Bryant at Sing Sing correctional facility.  

The Shawn Carter Foundation has partnered with Bridges to Wealth (B2W) to bring financial literacy workshops to local communities and to develop the wealth building capacity of SCF scholars and alumni. B2W focuses on students, parents and community partners to emphasize the importance of equal access to financial education, services, and opportunities

Developed at the University of Pennsylvania, B2W utilizes a strategic curriculum to promote generational wealth among underserved communities. Currently focused in Philadelphia and New York City, the goal is to expand the collective efforts nationwide to educate future entrepreneurs, students, teachers, and wealth owners.

Education is power. Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter and Jack Dorsey launched The Bitcoin Academy, a program for residents of Marcy Houses in Brooklyn, New York, where Mr. Carter grew up.

Designed in collaboration with Black Bitcoin Billionaire, on the ground support from SCF & Cash App, this program  provides education, and empowers the community with knowledge about Bitcoin.

The Bitcoin Academy hopes to expand to other neighborhoods soon.

In 2021, SCF scholars and supporters were called to design T-shirts that showcased their vision for empowering and inspiring the next generation of purpose-driven leaders.

Ten finalists were selected and the two winning artists each received a $5,000 cash award and a $1,000 PUMA gift card. In addition, they received a mentoring session with PUMA designers and created a marketing rollout plan to launch the sale of their custom T-shirts online and in the NYC flagship store. Net proceeds supported SCF.
