Holiday Toy Giveaway

Each December, the Shawn Carter Foundation celebrates the holiday season by distributing toys or meals to youth and families in underserved Brooklyn communities.

This Annual event has served thousands of residents in Marcy, Tompkins, and Summer Houses and surrounding areas since the Foundation’s inception. With your generous support, the toy giveaway expanded from a mid-sized multipurpose space at Children of Promise into the Pfizer Building, a larger venue near Marcy Houses. This move enabled the Foundation to go back to its an area that services three public housing units where the need is greatest.

Additionally, we were able to further professionalize your event production and security protocols, and most importantly, triple the number of gifts we distributed to youth, including those supported by Children of Promise NYC.

Marcy Youth Basketball Program

The Foundation has supported youth basketball tournaments in the Marcy Houses in Brooklyn, NY for the past seven years. Annually, hundreds of youth have gathered to participate in friendly competition before the start of the school year.

To foster a sense of community, excitement for education, and determination to succeed, resources and achievement awards such as uniforms, school supplies, backpacks, trophies, and other items are provided to the youth. With the additional funding support, we have been able to continue providing student athletes in the tournament with essential school supplies. At the same time, we’ve enhanced the quality of our content coverage, showcasing not only their athletic talent and sportsmanship, but also the importance of bringing that same dedication to their academics.

Our partners continue to play avital role by supplying uniforms, sneakers, andother accessories, helping to elevate the players’overall experience.
